What’s in KARMA K9 Dog Food and how will it benefit my dog?

Kangaroo meat

Sourced from a local butcher – the protein is Pesticide Free – Kangaroo meat for dogs. It is one of the lowest fat meats and rich in B vitamins, Omega 3s, iron and zinc! Kangaroo meat is high in protein and is always free-range. As a result, their meat is often a healthy choice for pets who suffer from food allergies or intolerance 

Ox Heart

Ox hearts can be fed as fresh, as part of a raw food-based diet, or dehydrated to form jerky or training bites. Ox hearts are high in protein, and rich in many minerals and vitamins, many of which boost your dog's immunity (B vitamins, lycopene, iron, phosphorous, potassium, sodium, selenium and zinc).

B Vitamins

B vitamins - biotin (important for maintaining healthy skin, coat and nails).

Vitamin A 

Vitamin A is an essential fat-soluble vitamin that has functions supporting vision, bone growth, reproduction, cellular differentiation, and immune response in dogs.

Vitamin B-6

This is important for normal brain development and for keeping the nervous system and immune system healthy) and vitamin B-12 (is also a key player in the function and development of brain and nerve cells).

Vitamin C

Is an important antioxidant. It scavenges potentially harmful free radicals in the body and can help reduce inflammation and cognitive aging. Dogs can actually synthesize vitamin C on their own in their livers, but in some cases, supplementation may offer health benefits.

Vitamin D

The “sunshine vitamin,” allows your dog’s body to balance minerals like phosphorous and calcium for healthy bone growth. Without it, your dog would not be able to develop properly or maintain healthy muscles and bones.

Vitamin K 

Vitamin K is a fat-soluble vitamin instrumental in activating your dog’s blood’s ability to clot. Ingestion of certain rat and mouse poisons inhibit dogs’ ability to use the vitamin K in their bodies, which leads to haemorrhaging and death if not treated.

Folate

Folic acid is necessary for normal metabolic functions such as DNA synthesis is the process whereby deoxynucleic acids are linked together to form DNA and red blood cell production. Deoxyribonucleic acid is a molecule composed of two polynucleotide chains that coil around each other to form a double helix carrying genetic instructions for the development, functioning, growth and reproduction of all known organisms and many viruses. DNA and ribonucleic acid are nucleic acids. Folate can be found in the liver and organs.

Niacin

Niacin is a B vitamin that's made and used by your body to turn food into energy. It helps keep your nervous system, digestive system, and skin healthy.

Pantothenic Acid

Pantothenic acid (also called vitamin B5) helps turn the food you eat into the energy you need. It's important for many functions in the body, especially making and breaking down fats.

Riboflavin

Vitamin B2, also called riboflavin. 

Thiamine

Thiamine plays a vital role in the growth and function of various cells.

Iron

Iron is a mineral that is required by your dog's body to perform important functions like carrying oxygen in the haemoglobin of red blood cells throughout the body so her cells can produce energy.

Zinc

Zinc plays an important role in many substances in the canine body, including enzymes, proteins, and hormones. Zinc is also important for immune system function and thyroid function.

Lycopene 

Lycopene is good for your dog's heart and bones. 

Phosphorous

Dietary phosphorus restriction has been shown to slow the progression of renal failure (consult with your vet if your dog has kidney failure).

Potassium

Potassium aids in the functioning of electrical charges in the heart, nerves, and muscles. 

Sodium

Sodium is an important mineral in a dog's healthy diet. It aids your dog's body in maintaining a healthy fluid balance in his cells. Sodium also aids in the production and transmission of nerve impulses.

Selenium 

Selenium is used to treat or prevent selenium deficiency. Selenium has been used in alternative medicine as an aid to treat Hashimoto's thyroiditis (an autoimmune disorder of the thyroid) and to treat high cholesterol.

Beetroot Powder

Beets provide dogs with Vitamin C, fibre, manganese, folate, and potassium. These micronutrients can work wonders for your dog's immune system and digestion, and they also give your dog a healthy coat and skin.

Milk Thistle

The anti-inflammatory properties of milk thistle for dogs can reduce and prevent inflammation in the liver.

Turmeric

Turmeric's anti-inflammatory properties can reduce inflammation and the associated pain and discomfort. 

Dandelion Leaf

The stem and leaf parts of the plant — are a natural source of vitamins A, C, K, D, and B.

Choline

Choline is a necessary component of the phospholipid cell membrane. It supports healthy brain and liver function and is occasionally used as part of a treatment plan for pets with epilepsy.
